Why Teams Don’t Work

Beginning with my immersion long ago into TQM as a trainer and team facilitator, through my experience in “team” projects in graduate school, and through years of HR work and talent management consulting with all types of organizations, I have come to form the gut-level opinion that the best way to make a project longer, costlier, and less effective is to manage it by committee. That we now call committees “teams” has not changed on iota their potential for ineffectiveness.
