“Having HR in the boardroom to share key employee voice feedback, talent insights and expert recommendations can proactively shape company strategy, direction, and objectives, providing growth opportunities at scale. Leaving your employee voice and insights out of the Boardroom is like leaving your customer voice and insights out as well. Both are critical to driving your strategy to success.“
Most leaders don’t see how to employ HR as a strategic pillar of the business, and this leaves a lot of professionals feeling somewhat frustrated. In this interview series, we talk to HR professionals, business leaders, and anyone who is an authority on HR who can share what companies can gain by having HR in the boardroom and why and how HR should help drive company decisions. This time we had the pleasure of interviewing HRIZONS own Mary Poppen.
Mary has over 20 years of experience in customer success, business consulting, and executive leadership. Her past roles include chief customer officer at Glint, global head of innovation enablement at SAP SuccessFactors, and chief customer officer for SAP’s Global Cloud business. As a well-recognized customer experience thought leader, she frequently speaks at global events and has authored several publications in this space. Further, she has published research and speaks frequently on the topics of performance and process improvement. In addition to her current role as President of HRIZONS Employee Experience (EX) division, Mary enjoys serving as a board advisor and executive coach and has a passion for giving back through female mentorship programs.
